This is an area that is incredibly rich in natural bodies of water and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy water sports. Whether you like kayaking, boating, sailing or just some good old fashioned swimming, there are lakes and rivers just waiting for you to discover them. There are several marinas and boat rental businesses so you can try out several bodies of water and never have to worry about bringing your own boat.

Fishing and Hunting

The beauty of Quebec City is its proximity to the wilderness. Travel 20 minutes and you’ll end up in the middle of a beautiful countryside that is practically unspoiled. The many lakes are a haven for fishermen, and the hunting seasons offer access to game that is rare in North America. Just check ahead of time to see what is in season before you arrive. This is a favorite with tourists and offers a great way to get a view of the city and the surrounding wilderness. There are numerous trails, developed and raw, awaiting hikers. You can make a whole day of it, or you can try camping on site. There are plenty of places just waiting to be discovered on foot.
