Bend – Central Cascades

The spectacular Central Cascades and the Bend area is perfectly situated in the middle of the state and is only moments away from wilderness, wildlife, mountains, rivers, lakes and desert.

Beautiful Central Oregon

The beautiful rivers of the Deschutes and Little Deschutes run through Central Oregon. In addition, there are hundreds of high alpine lakes created by the mountain spring run-off of the Three Sisters, Broken Top, and Mt. Bachelor. This area offers an abundance of water sports activities ranging from fly fishing to boating to swimming and canoeing just to mention a few. The area is home to resorts and lodging options including, inns, ranches, and quality bed and breakfasts.

The town of Bend is situated at the base of the majestic Cascade Mountain Range, and is the hub city of Central Oregon. The towns to the north of Bend are Redmond and Madras, to the west is Sisters, and to the south are Sunriver and LaPine. To the east of Bend one finds high desert vegetation and to the west Bend is surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land. At an elevation of 3,628 feet, Bend enjoys the predominately dry climate of the Great Basin.

Things to Do

Sunny days, low humidity and cool nights provide the most common weather pattern. Outdoor activities take over during the pleasant dry spring, summer, and fall months. In the Mt. Bachelor area one can enjoy everything from camping, hiking, fly-fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, white water river rafting, sightseeing, boating, great golfing and more.
