Mesa Verde, Spanish for "green table", reflects more than 700 years of history from approximately A.D. 600 through A.D. 1300. The cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde National Park offers visitors a spectacular look into the lives of Ancestral Pueblo people. Plan to spend one to two days exploring the world-class archeological sites as well as the beautiful landscape of the surrounding area. The entrance to the National park is just 35 miles west of Durango.
